Meeting Densification:
2019-2021

One of the more peculiar knock-on effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic is the way it shifted our work/ life balance. As work and home life merged under the newly enforces “Work From Home” model that most knowledge workers had to adopt post-March 15th 2020, the trade-offs of this convenience became more apparent in our meeting calendars. In this visualization, I explored my own calendar for clues on how my own workday was impacted by the event. What I found was confirmation of the idea that while remote, I had been working longer and having many more meetings compared to when I was in-office. I quickly framed this phenomenon as “meeting densification”.
